At MEL, perhaps the QF lounce is nicer now the upgrade is complete, but it's also bigger and has a more public feel. The CX lounge was calm and quiet and the food on offer was good. Not surprising for CX, the offer include dim sum and steamed rice.
On board the catering was adequate for economy, albeit a little slow. For dinner I had the chilli pork, and for breakfast the congee (a nice change to the normal plastic egg rubbish that gets served). I managed five or six hours of sleep (not bad on a nine hour flight) before we landed in HK. Immigration procedures were quick (hint: join the shortest queue, not the queue you're supposed to join) and my luggage was off the belt as I approached.
