Point du Hoc

The gun battery at Point Du Hoc was part of the Atlantic Wall and was considered impenetrable by the Germans. American Rangers scaled cliffs to over-run German placement protecting Omaha and Utah beaches. Remnants of the bunkers and craters from heavy naval shelling remain.
