Hong Kong Marriott - Sky City

I attended a conference at this hotel last weekend. Quite a nice place to rest your head - especially if you like planes. Depending on your room, you either be looking towards the airfield's runways, or in the other direction seeing planes approach and fly out. The dinner buffet is excellent - seafood, sashimi, sushi and noodle bars, chinese, western and indian options... plus plenty of dessert options (I tried the green tea iceream... and the coffee icecream... and the coconut ice-cream).

Rooms are plenty spacious. One feature I really liked is a monitor plug at the desk you can connect your notebook to inorder to play movies on the big TV.

After spending most of the day inside I went for a walk in the evening to enjoy the succession of CX widebodies departing to the distant corners of the world. Anyway, I came across these lucky places to park your car.

And exactly what is a "shroff office"?

According to dictionary.com, in the far East a shroff is "a native expert employed to test coins and separate the base from the genuine"... guess you can't be too careful around these parts!
