Gaudi and Barcelona

Barcelona is dotted with the architectural triumphs of Antoni Gaudi. Like many great architects, he broke from tradition and designed buildings that stretched construction techniques and redefined appearance and form.

La Pedrera - an iconic apartment building

Sagrada Familia - Gaudi's cathedral, unfinished at the time of his death and now scheduled for completion in 2026

Some other snaps from Barcelona:

Park Guell - Commissioned by the wealthy Guell family and designed by Gaudi as a "gated community", Park Guell was a financial flop and today is a park owned by the city. It's dotted with Gaudi's trademark heliocoidal columns, and broken tile mosaics.

Looking up the Ramblas (one of Barcelona's main streets), and fake flowers for sale

Some random building, but I liked the colour of the tiles against the blue, blue sky
